Hailita Francoy Hill-Weeks was born on August 10, 1948 in Middletown, Ohio to Jessie J. and Kathleen Hill. She was called from earth’s labor to heavens reward on December 7, 2014 while in Hospice of Dayton at age 66.
Hailita graduated from Jefferson Township High School and furthered her education earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Psycho- logy, while minoring in Business. She was also a Licensed Cosmetologist and an entrepreneur by owning her own bakery. She loved to cook and share her food and was always feeding somebody. There was never a season that her home went with- out the wonderful smells of homemade rolls, cakes and pies.
She had a strong love and dedication for her friends and family and was a dynamic presence in her children’s lives and spent her best years doing just about everything with her dad, children and other family members. She was affectionately called Hal by her family and others who knew and adored her. She walked through tough times demonstrating to them how important it was to have a personal relationship with the Lord and encouraged them to walk by faith and not by sight.
She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing and give praise to God. Some of her favorite songs were by the late Reverend James Cleveland, ie: “God Is” and “I Had A Talk With God” and also she loved “Walk Around Heaven.”
Hal loved to sew and made beautiful clothes, Afghans and quilts for her family. Elegance, class, style and strength are just a few adjectives to describe her. Her big beautiful smile and laugh and generous heart will always be a part of her legacy.
Hal was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen McCoy; maternal grandmother, Tressie; paternal grandparents, Percy and Caroline Hill; uncles, Percy Hill, Jr., Johnny Hill and James Hill; and sisters, Lydia McCoy and Jessica “Bee” Hill.
Hailita leaves to celebrate her homecoming, a loving and devoted husband, Mr. Rudolph Weeks — the love of her life, she affectionately called “Honey.” They were married for 18 years. They had a true partnership, true love relationship, an undivided bond and commitment to each other. She also leaves: her beloved father, Jessie J.
