Greg Terrell passed away on January 15, 2025. He leaves behind his loving family including his wife, Ilsa Terrell, their daughters Sharae (Donnie) Richmond, Elyse (Dane) Chinn, and grandchildren Leo, Audra, Andie, Ember, and Wyatt. He was a believer in Jesus Christ, following God as a steadfast member of the church until his passing. His son Brice Terrell awaits to take his hand again in Heaven.
Greg was born the eighth of nine children born to Emery and Carrie Terrell on March 28, 1955 in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised in the city of Blanchester. It wasn’t unusual to find Greg reminiscing about his humble beginnings, often telling stories of his childhood to his family. These stories always came with a dose of humor but included humbling lessons that his children will pass on to their own.
Despite Greg’s modest roots, he never lost sight of those who still faced challenges, inspiring his children to embrace the values of empathy and generosity. Greg went all out every Christmas to spoil his family, yet he asked for little in return. He cherished every gift he received, whether for Christmas, his birthday, or Father’s Day. His wish list was simple: a gadget, a piece of Star Trek memorabilia, or something handmade by his grandchild. These thoughtful gestures were all it took to bring a smile to Greg’s face and warmth to his heart. He married his wife Ilsa in 1984, and shortly after became the sole provider as the family grew. He retired from Proctor & Gamble in the early 2000s, his tenure including a term as union vice president.
Greg watched his 3 children graduate high school and attain 5 college degrees with pride. His unwavering dedication to his family held them together when times were difficult. Through the trials, he was the husband, father, and brother we needed, providing assistance when possible. When the grandchildren began arriving, he said “It doesn’t get any better than this.”
After 40 years of marriage, and a lifetime of faith and laughter, he now rests with his parents, his siblings that preceded him in death, his son, and his Heavenly Father.
