Gloria Jean Ross ?Fuzzy? was born June 16, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Isetta and Ezell Jackson. She departed this life January 14, 2012. She was preceded in death by her son, Derrick Jason Ross, one brother, Ezell Jackson “EZ”, and two sisters, Carolyn “Icky” Jackson-Thompson and Rosetta “Cookie” Jackson.
On August 7, 1965, Gloria was united in holy matrimony to Henderson Ross. They were blessed with six children.
Gloria was a previous member of Calvary United Methodist Church and later became a member of Inspirational Baptist Church. At the time of death, she did not have a church home.
She graduated from Taft High School in 1964 and was on every Honor Roll, Honor Society, Taft Capades, Student Council, chosen for Shillito?s Sewing Board, etc. She earned her Bachelor?s degree in 1980 from the University Without Walls and was certified as a Licensed Social Worker in 1989.
She worked for Hamilton County Juvenile Court System at Glenville School for the boys and girls and then Hillcrest School for approximately 15 years. She then decided to open her own daycare business ? Little People Daycare where she nurtured and prepared them for their other endeavors in life.
Gloria became ill in 2007 and was cared for by her family at home for awhile. She later became a resident at Lake Ridge Villa Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and devoted husband of 46 years, Henderson Ross; her children, Henderson Ross Jr., Milton Ross, Alice Fields, Pam Chin and Tracy Ross; grandchildren, Jordan Tyler Ross, Trevor Jason Ross, Milton Antonio Ross, DeShawn LeToile Ross, Diamond Gloriel McEachin, Tyesha L. Kirk, Donte Ross, Latesha Bolden and Terria S. Bolden.
