Gilbert Gatewood was born on November 23, 1959 to the late Daisy Brown Gatewood and the late James Rash at the Clark County Hospital in Winchester, Kentucky. He departed this earthly life on Sunday, August 3, 2014.
At a young age, Gilbert confessed hope in Jesus Christ and was baptized at the High Street Christian Church in Mount Sterling, Kentucky by the late Reverend George Frazier.
He attended Montgomery County School and was a graduate of Mount Sterling High School, where he was a star player on the basketball team.
Gilbert married Carla Greene and became a loving step- father to Ra-Nisha and Keith Greene.
He was a ―hard worker‖ and seldom missed going to work. He was employed by the Kable Medium Service, Cincinnati, Ohio. Gilbert loved his family and was an avid sports fan.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his brother, James Watson Gatewood. He leaves to cherish his memory: three children, Dushane Jones, Pauline Pickens (Rushdee) and Michael Perrin; 13 grandchildren; one sister, Brenda and seven brothers, Dwight (Brenda), Bruce, Michael, Earl (Barbara), Donnie, Rodney and Bobbie; one step- sister, Michele; many nieces, nephews and cousins; a very special friend, Donna Mayberry; a host of friends in Covington, Mount Sterling and Cincinnati.
