Geraldine “Dean” Flagg (Hall) expired from this earthly life unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at her home in Middletown, OH. She was born on April 18, 1941 in Statesboro, GA to the late Lille L. (Love) Hall and the late Simuel D. Hall. She was the second born of four children, at times taking the role of eldest, protecting and guiding her siblings.
Dean’s parents relocated from Williamsburg, VA to Middletown, OH in the late 1940’s and she began attending Garfield Elementary. Dean lived most of her life in Middletown and retired from AK Steel with over 30 years of service. She spent the early years of her career at Aeronca, Inc. assembling aircraft diesel engines and components. Dean was a hard worker and rarely missed a day of work.
In addition to her commitment to her job, she was a faithful, dedicated and loyal daughter, assisting her mother with home healthcare for her father, who was paraplegic for 15 years. Dean moved into the family home and provided love, support and comfort. Dean was also devoted to and cherished her son, Anthony. He was her life, heart and soul.
Dean will be missed by those who loved her most. She was preceded in death by: brother, Daniel Hall; brother-in-law, Benjamin Hare; and nephew, Charles (Chuckie) K. Lee. She leaves to cherish her memory: a loving son, Anthony D. Hall; grandchildren, Tamara Echols, Brandon Hall, Tameka Walton and Portia Franklin; three great-grandchildren; devoted sisters, Vernell Hare (Dayton, OH), Carolyn Milton and a special brother-in-law (who was like her own brother), Tyrone (Middletown, OH); loving aunts, Thelma Payne (Williamsburg, VA) and Louise Love (Middletown, OH); four loving nieces, Kim (Willard) Browner (Dayton OH), Carolyn (Stanley) Mallard (Dayton, OH), Janelle (Ralph) Lee (West Chester, OH) and Michelle (Arthur) Johnson (Middletown, OH); one nephew, Danny Hall (Middletown, OH); and a host of great nieces, nephews, many cousins, friends and neighbors. A special acknowledgement goes to Aunt Louise Love, who Dean thought of as a second mother after the death of her mother.
