George Herman Lang, the son of the late George Thomas Lang and Elizabeth Lail Lang, was born September 12, 1939 in Sardis, Kentucky. He departed this life on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at 12:29 p.m. at Bethesda North Hospital.
At the age of 14, he moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where he attended and graduated from Taft High School.
After graduation, George returned to Maysville, Kentucky where he was employed at Walds Manu-facturing Company. In 1966, George was united in marriage with Mary Eva Burns. In this union were born two daughters.
George united with Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in 1980. He was active as an Usher, the Deacon Board and in charge of the Bus Ministry. George was employed at NAPA Auto Parts 15 years and retired from Queen City Metro after 25 years of service. After being retired for three years, he went to work at First Student Bus Service as a Monitor until his health failed.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Mary; two daughters, Margaret Yvette Lang-Smith (Lamard) and Alysia Dell Lang; six grandchildren, Dejha Smith, DeMarco Smith, Darius Smith, Sierra Bonner, Shantel Bonner and Shamari Bonner; one brother, Harold Stewart (Emily); two aunts, Lucille Brooks and Laura Hawkins; three uncles, Melvin Lail (May), Raymond Lang (Rene?) and Lawrence Lang (Georgia); six sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
George was known for his friendly smile, quiet ways and great love for his family and church.
