Edward A. Oden was born October 19, 1922,
in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the union of Jesse and
Addie Oden. He attended Cincinnati Public
Schools. He was the oldest of six siblings (five
sisters and one brother). He met his wife, Fay
and was married until she passed in 2001. After
the passing of Fay, God blessed him again and
sent him Marjorie Oden. They were married
August 31, 2002.
Edward worked at Hill & Griffith Company
for 21 years, and later retired. He loved to travel
and play pool. Edward was one of the founders
of the Madisonville Gospel notes, and the group
sung for nursing homes and several church
functions.
Edward found Christ early in life, and has
been a faithful servant of Greater New Hope
Baptist Church since the age of nine years old.
He served on the Usher Board, Civic Organizations,
Parking Lot Ministry and the Male Chorus.
He was preceded in death by his brother,
Samuel; his five sisters, Beatrice, Addie, Lois,
Ethel and Marvis.
Edward leaves to cherish his memory: his loving,
faithful and devoted, wife, Marjorie Oden;
his children; sister-in-law, Jeanette; a host of
nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, as
well as very special and dear friends.
Edward A. Oden will be greatly missed by all!!
