Dorothy Williams was called to her heavenly home on June 1, 2025. She was born in Florence, Kentucky, to her beloved parents, William and Addie Behanan.
In 1976, Dorothy made her home in Dry Ridge, Kentucky, where she lovingly raised her children. In 1979, she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, a city that would become the heart of her life’s journey. There, she built a home with her children, filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting smell of home-cooked meals.
Dorothy dedicated many years to serving others as a home health professional caregiver, offering not just care, but compassion and companionship to those in need. Even after retirement, her giving spirit never rested. She took on part-time jobs and volunteered in her community, always finding ways to lift others. At Douglas Elementary School, she was known as “grandma,” offering hugs, encouragement, and a listening ear to children who needed a little extra love. Her final role at Easterseals was a testament to her lifelong mission: to make others feel seen, valued, and cared for.
Dorothy’s love language was service. Whether it was shopping for a neighbor, preparing a warm meal, or simply sitting with someone in silence, she gave of herself freely and joyfully.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Addie Behanan; her brothers, Donald Behanan, Logan Behanan and William Robert Behanan; her sisters, Gladys Anderson, Ethel Starkey, and Shirley Homey; her son, Jerrimy Westover; and her daughter, Carleda Sechrest.
Dorothy leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. She is survived by her son, Jacob (Barbara); her daughters, Donna, Beatrice, Janet, Rebecca, Rose, and Angela; grandson, Frederick; her siblings; 18 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Though her hands are now at rest, the work of her heart lives on in each of us. Her memory is a light that will never dim—a reminder to love deeply, give freely, and live with grace.
