Donna Jean Elmore, was born on April 17, 1964 in Cincinnati, OH to the union of the late Donald W. Elmore and Evelyn (Sanders) Elmore. She was the third of five children. She departed this life on Sunday, September 13, 2015.
Donna was baptized at the age of 11. As a child she was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. She also attended Second Peter Baptist Church. Later in life and throughout her sickness her membership was with Calvary Hilltop UMC. Everyone was always happy to see her smiling face when she was able to attend.
Donna was a graduate of the Cincinnati Public and Forest Park City School systems. She worked at various jobs including Mail Sort Inc., Skolniks Bagel Bakery, White Castle, Fashion Bug, Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Lehman Mfg and at the time of her diagnosis, Scarlet & Gray in the Mt. Healthy City Schools.
Donna married in 1987, and to this union one son was born, Brian E. Pinson. In 1993, she went on to meet and share the rest of her life with Charles E. Robinson. Together they enjoyed traveling. The #1 destination was Charles’ hometown in North Carolina to visit the family. They enjoyed listening to music and Donna thought she was the “new Natalie Cole”. Fishing, camping and eating seafood were also high on their list of activities.
Donna could be your best champion as witnessed by her plethora of friendships. She stayed connected to current events, hers, yours, the family and the community in general! Her mother said that Donna never met a stranger. She always had a bright smile (with lipstick on her teeth) for everyone. Donna was a social butterfly with a loud personality and voice to match. Donna always took a leadership role whether you wanted her to or not and any situation always worked out to her advantage. She looked out for family (play-family, should-be family, almost-family, probably-family) and would do all that she could for them.
There are so many more things that could be written about Donna as a companion, as a mother, as a daughter, as a sister, as Ms. Grandmother, as a cousin, as an aunt and as a friend. We know you all have special memories that will make you smile, laugh and cry. Donna loved, was loved and will be truly missed in our hearts.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Brian Pinson, her loving and devoted companion, Charles Robinson and her granddaughter, Analey A. Pinson. Donna also leaves her mother, Evelyn Elmore, one brother, Donald Elmore and three sisters Evelyn (Rodney) Suesberry, Jill Elmore and Edith Elmore (Vaughn Gillispie), an aunt, Lawana Richardson, and special sister-friends, Cassandra Booker, Viki Reid, Alicia Williams, Joyce Sanders-Diop and Tyra Harris and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
