Donald E. Greenlee

Mr. Donald E. Greenlee was born on December 31, 1945 in Evarts, Kentucky to the late George and Lorene Greenlee. Donald was the 4th child and came into the world with his twin brother Ronald, who was 5th out of 12 children.
Donald moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1967, where he then met his wife of 48 years, Ester Greenlee. Donald and Ester had two children, Eugene and Anita and two grandchildren, Matthew and Tia.
Donald proudly worked at Shriners Burn Institute for 43 years as a Certified Sterile Processing Technician and also part time at University Hospital for over 30 years. After his retirement, he volunteered his time at Christ Hospital, assisting those who needed him and also became active with different committees at the Mt. Healthy United Methodist Church. His favorite activity at the church was making candy.
Donald also loved gathering his family and started the Greenlee/Clark family reunion in 1978 and was the president of this committee until 2004. Even after his “retirement” from the reunion committee, he continued to remain active with the committee, lending them his guidance and wisdom.
Donald was also a member of Corinthian Lodge #1.
Donald developed pancreatic cancer in 2013 and was labeled as a miracle patient due to surviving a complicated 10 hour surgery and he continued to thrive until he found out the cancer had returned a year later. He succumbed to this disease on August 14, 2015.
Donald was known for his wit, sharp tongue and sense of humor. He was also known for his willingness to help others, especially his family.
Donald leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Ester Greenlee, his son, Eugene (Toni) Greenlee, daughter Anita Godfrey and grandchildren Matthew Godfrey and Tia Greenlee. He also leaves three brothers, Charles (LaJoyce) Greenlee, Ronald Greenlee and Robert Greenlee and three sisters, Janice Gibson, Carolyn Greenlee and Cynthia Greenlee and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Proceeding him in death are his parents, George and Lorene Greenlee, siblings, Eddie Greenlee, Paul C Greenlee, Mitchell Greenlee, Cathy Greenlee and Gina Greenlee.
