Don Williams (Irie) was born September 1, 1964, in Maysville, Kentucky to Margaret Helen Williams and Houston Lee Bluford. Irie has 10 siblings, Regina (Gene Gene), Tyra (Libby), Terra (Nae Nae), Terrietta (Teri), Kathy, Loonie, Victor, Cedrick, Raymond (Yellow Man), and Herbert (Herbie); 2 uncles, Marshall Williams and Jasper Bluford.
Don has 4 children, Don and Deandre Harris, Ijah’mon and Jah’Shango Williams; 17 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter. Don loved his kids and grandchildren. “Grand Youth” as he would call them.
Don loved his reggae music. He never missed a reggae night that started on the square and ended up at Washington Park.
Don started a business, “Irie Cleaning”, and he traveled back and forth from Columbus to Cincinnati. Whatever you needed cleaned, Irie Cleaning was there to get the job done.
Don never missed a beat with his kids or grandchildren. He loved his family no matter what. Irie never missed a family function, he would pop out of nowhere announcing himself “Irie Irie” with his little dance he was known for.
Don’s favorite things to say to others were, “little ugly dude” and “you a hater”. It was never a dull moment when Irie was around.
Don was preceded in death by his father, Houston Lee Bluford.
Don leaves to mourn his memories his mother, Margaret Williams; children, Don, Deandre, Ijah’Mon, and Jah’Shango; siblings, Regina, Tyra, Terra, Terrietta, Kathy, Loonie, Victor, Cedrick, Raymond, and Herbert; 17 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, 33 nieces and nephews, 14 great nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins, family and friends.
