Darryl Hill

Darryl was born on February 20, 1950, the son of Thomas Hill and Fozie Mae (Havior) Smith. He went to his eternal rest on August 8, 2026.

Darryl was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Donald Hill, Thomas Eugene “Jimmy” Hill, and Ronald Hill; two sisters, Jeanette Venita. Hill and Gunice V. Cunningham.

Darryl became a member of the First Church of God at an early age, graduated from Hughes High School, and later enlisted and served in the United States Navy. He earned an Associate’s degree from Southern Ohio College, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Urbana College.

Throughout his professional life, Darryl held several positions within the transportation field, including serving as a service‑vehicle driver for the University of Cincinnati and later as a bus operator for Cincinnati Metro. He also took great pride in his work with Cincinnati Public Schools, where he served as a licensed Stationary Engineer and was valued for his dedication and professionalism.

In his personal life, Darryl found enjoyment in many pursuits. He was an enthusiastic basketball fan, appreciated attending professional baseball and football games, and had a deep love for Jazz and R&B music.

Darryl leaves behind: his siblings, Jeamel “Jemetia” Hill (Cincinnati), Anthony Hill [wife, Jo Ann] (Coppell, TX), and Kimberly Smith (Cincinnati); brother-in-law, Gary Cunningham, Sr. (Cincinnati); nephews and nieces; host of cousins; many friends.
