Cynthia Diane Shelton was born to the union of the late John Lee Smith and Pauline Brooks on September 5, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
After completing high school, she went to college and got a Master’s degree. She was a HR Specialist for the Department of DLA.
She was joined in holy matrimony to Otis Shelton.
School and education was very important to her. She loved to read, watch movies, spend quality time with her family, especially her grandson. She had an infectious laugh and a zest for life.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gregory Smith.
Cynthia departed this life on May 15, 2014.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her husband, Otis Shelton; one daughter, Sharon Ficklin; one grandson, Renzell Singleton; two sisters, Kathleen (Joel) Neal and Rosemarie (Rayshawn) Brown; two brothers, Johnny Smith and Randall Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Cynthia was a friendly and funny coworker. She would come into my cubicle every day to get her plate for her morning breakfast and always asked how I was doing and how my daughter is doing. She loved to brag about her grandson and all his accomplishments. She called everyone "Baby", and we were very lucky if she would allow us to take a photo of her. We constantly accused her of being in the Witness Protection Program because she would not allow photos. She will be greatly missed.
