I will cherish the memories of my cousin Criss. When Criss and her Mom came to visit us in Williamsburg, Criss and I were little girls. I remember thinking when I first saw her, how cute and quiet she was. My mother, (Criss's Aunt Thelma) loved Criss very much and will always have a very special place in her heart for Criss. We will miss her.

The children loved and adored their Miss Criss and often scrambled for a spot in her lap! Children and her family were her passions in life. Criss and I were good friends in both junior high and high school. Although we grew apart when I went to college, I remember her as kind, sincere, and hopeful. She was hopeful that she would find that special someone as her mate, and she did. She was hopeful that she would have children, and she did; and she was hopeful that she would learn how to drive. Hmmm, I'm unsure if she learned how to drive, but I believe that she's soaring high-- getting her driving lessons, complete with wings, from the angels.

Ms. Criss was one of the sweetest ladies that i had the opportunity to work with at Abilities First. She was so nice to all the kiddos. I enjoyed working and talking with her. Through the years I also got to know Mr. Wilson. They both have hearts of gold! I could tell he loves her more than life itself.

I recently connected with Criss, Danielle, and Amber over the last year through my mother Thelma Love Payne. We were all working together to help Amber find scholarship grants. It was through this time that I got to know how sweet and precious Criss' spirit was and how deep the love was between her and my mother. For all of my life, I have always heard my mother talk about good memories of Criss. She adored her and recalled often how grandma Gertrude Love watched over her when she was a baby. We will miss her and continue to pray that God will comfort and provide support to her family.

I recently reconnected and communicated with Criss in the last 6 months. The last time I saw her I was about 8 years old in Williamsburg, VA. I loved when she came to Williamsburg to visit, the overnight sleep-overs, and fun times we shared. Although, I relocated to Maryland a few years after that, I never forgot about her and our connection. I learned recently that she felt the same.
Family: Please have comfort in knowing that her kind, sweet and loving spirit lives on in all of us who came in contact with her. We are all blessed to have known such a special person. She will forever be in my heart.
