Carlos Arnez DeVine Jr., born on October 8, 1975, in Cincinnati, Ohio, was the beloved son of Carlos and Geraldine DeVine and the youngest of four children—Dawn Marie, Yolanda Yvette, and Charles Lee. He grew up in a close-knit family environment that shaped his character and deep sense of connection to loved ones. Carlos was a devoted father to his daughter, Camorie DeVine.
Faith and family played an important role in Carlos’s upbringing. He often attended Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church with his mother, Geraldine, who remained a faithful and dedicated member for over forty years. Through these experiences, Carlos developed meaningful values and a strong community bond.
Carlos received his education at Cape and Aiken High School, where he discovered and nurtured many of his talents. During his school years, he played baseball and distinguished himself through his artistic ability. His creativity and natural talent in art stood out among his peers, and it was also a time when he formed many lifelong friendships that he continued to cherish throughout his life.
A man of many gifts, Carlos was widely known for his diverse talents and personal style. He had a natural skill for cutting hair, creating art, and cooking—each of which he pursued with passion and pride. In addition to his talents, Carlos had a keen sense of fashion and was especially known as a proud “sneaker head.” He took great pride in his extensive collection of gym shoes and hats, always putting thought into his unique and stylish appearance.
Carlos’s personality, creativity, and presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Whether through his talents, his sense of humor, or the way he connected with others, he brought warmth and individuality into every space he entered.
Carlos was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Geraldine DeVine; his grandparents, Reverend Clinton and Lillian Mahone and Albert and Lucinda DeVine. Though he has departed this life, his legacy continues through those who knew and loved him.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Camorie DeVine; his siblings; aunts and nephews; nieces and nephews; extended family; and a host of dear friends whose lives were touched by his kindness, creativity, and spirit. Carlos will be remembered not only for his many talents but also for the love he shared and the memories he created with those closest to him.
