Benjamin Lee Cureton was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to the marriage of Gregory and Reinette Cureton on October 7, 1986. His father preceded him in death in 1996.
Ben was raised in Woodlawn, Ohio along with his two brothers. He participated in the community sports as a child. He also was a very helpful, willing volunteer of the Woodlawn Boosters Club.
Benjamin gave his life to Jesus at the age of nine. He was baptized by his uncle, Rev. Clayton Waller, Sr., who was the pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Lincoln Heights, Ohio.
Ben was a thoughtful and very helpful young person. He graduated from Princeton High School and had a very high aptitude for school and he loved to read.
After high school, he briefly attended Alabama A&M. He then decided to attend Welding School and obtained a license for all kinds of welding. Ben worked in Mobile, Alabama as a contract welder for the U.S. Navy. Soon after that, he attended truck driving school and earned a CDL License. He drove rigg trucks for three years.
Ben was gentle and compassionate and he always had a beautiful big smile. He also was a hard worker and a willing helper to anyone in need, no strings attached.
Benjamin leaves to mourn his passing: a loving, patient mother, Reinette Howard; two brothers, Gregory and Daniel Cureton and one stepbrother, Darnell Howard II (Kelly); his dear grandfather, Lee Cureton, Sr. and stepgrandmother, Mary Foster; uncles, Anthony Kilgore, Ronald Kilgore (Debbie), Lee Whitecloud Cureton (Cathy) and Rodney Cureton (Shelly); his aunts, Imogene Waller, Doretha Gomez (Arnaldo), Brenda Russell (Daryl) and Michelle Darden (Kelly); a host of first cousins who were as close as siblings, Natasha Flowers (Stephen), Nakina Robinson, Lee Cureton III (Erika), Mario Cureton, Daryl Russell, Jr., Rev. Clayton Waller, Jr. (Marsha), David Waller (Desa), Dr. Paul Waller (Dr. Angellique), Angela Waller, Deonta Waller, Lisa and Lisha Cureton, Sheritha Cureton, Mark Cureton and David Cureton, Britian Waller, Chris Davis and Leah Waller. There is also a huge number of his second and third cousins. He was especially good with children and very loved by all the younger members of the family.
We will all miss him and especially his huge beautiful smile. He is in the hands of God now and surely has found comfort and peace.
