Avis Denise Henderson

Avis Denise “Niecy’” Henderson Mincy was born on April 28, 1956, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late James Oscar Mincy and Ida Mae Mincy. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Renee’ Parthenia Butler; her sister, Norma Jean Flint; and her brother, Kelvin Mincy.

Avis was a loving, kind, and generous woman who was always ready to lend a helping hand to others. Known affectionately as “Niecy” by her family, she brought joy wherever she went. She cherished spending time with family and friends, and her boisterous laugh could fill a room and be heard from miles away. Avis especially enjoyed dancing, watching movies, and creating lasting memories with her grandchildren. She was a devoted mother and grandmother whose love and warmth will be deeply missed.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her three children, Tanyanika Agyei (Prince), Tyfini McGowan (Clifton), and Ned Butler (Deleesa); 11 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Debra, Gina, and Tamela; her brothers, James and Reginald; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.

Avis’s life was a testament to love, laughter, and family, and her legacy will continue to live on in all who knew her.
