Audrey Renee Cash

Audrey Renee Cash (Delroe) was born on January 2, 1950. Audrey was married to Stanhope Cash for 11 years and this union was blessed with a loving daughter, Maia Delroe Cash. She was a devoted grandmother to Tony Ximines Cottrell (Tone), both of Cincinnati, Ohio. She departed this earthly life on December 30, 2014.
Audrey held a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Kentucky State College, a Reading Specialist Certification from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Education from Cincinnati’s Xavier University.
For 42 years, Mrs. Cash served as an educator and Media Specialist in Joliet, IL, Pittsburgh, PA and Cincinnati, OH. Eighteen of those years were spent as a credentialed Lead Teacher. For eight years, she served as a Teaching Consultant with the College of Mount St. Joseph, where she prepared and evaluated student teachers. After retiring from working full-time as an educator, she continued to impact the lives of students through her work as an Adjunct Instructor, G.E.D Tutor and Reading Specialist for Cincinnati State Technical Community College, Lincoln College of Technology and Dohn Community High School.
She was wholly dedicated to providing her students the tools and environment to want to learn, to be accountable, to problem-solve and to succeed in their education. Her exceptionally strong reading specialist credentials supported all subjects. Her critical expertise was helpful in the augmentation of the work of her colleagues.
Audrey was an athlete. In her earlier years, she was an accomplished softball player. Later, league bowling was Audrey’s choice of social and physical exercise. She was a member of over 16 leagues in her bowling career. Most recently, she was a member of the Wednesday Night Mixed League, Sunday Night Bi-Monthly League and the Thursday Night Mixed League. She also participated in many local and national bowling tournaments.
Energized by politics, Audrey loathed injustices, readily challenged the hypocrisy of media pundits, and stood in defense of the underdog while busily advocating their causes of authority. She kept living, learning, teaching, caring, laughing, loving, helping, playing, voicing and working until her death.
Audrey’s parents, Johnie C. and Lorena P. (Mize) Delroe pre-ceded her in death. She was her Daddy’s Girl — his “Sport” — and her Mother’s Baby. She leaves to mourn: her fiancé, Ronnie Lovett; her daughter and grandson; two sisters, Joyce E. Delroe of Cincinnati and Sandra D. Allen of Reading, PA; one niece, Stephanie K. Maturine of Cincinnati; two nephews, Brian T. and Troy G. Allen of State College, PA; an aunt, Marie G. Todd; cousins, Elizabeth Buchanan, Sharon Alexander, Donna J. Todd, Christine G. Jones, Leon D. Mize, L. Rochelle Mize, Marva and James Mize, Jr.; and a host of loyal, caring friends and relatives.
