Anise Elizabeth Sewell, affectionately known as Nissi, was born July 29, 1966, in Cincinnati Ohio, to Ann Bolds-Sewell and the late Thomas Sewell III. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Charlie Nelson and Elizabeth Nelson-Hughes and her maternal grandparents, Norman and Anna Bolds and nephew Thomas Sewell V. Dedicated as an infant, Anise was baptized at age 10 by Reverend Otis Moss Jr. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Lockland, Ohio.
A devoted member of her church community, Anise actively participated in various ministries, including Sunday School, Youth Choir, Greeter, Usher, and Kitchen Ministries.
Anise attended Mount Notre Dame High School and later graduated with honors from the University of Cincinnati, earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Management.

Professionally, Anise excelled as a Call Center Manager for General Electric, serving in this role for nearly 15 years.
Anise’s life took a dramatic turn on September 27, 2019, when she suffered her first stroke, leaving her paralyzed. Despite facing numerous challenges, including multiple strokes, falls, and hospitalizations, Anise remained strong. During her final emergency room visit, Anise’s mother witnessed her suffer a cardiac arrest and another stroke. Although surgical options were available, the outlook was uncertain, and Anise chose to transition to hospice care.
In the final days of her earthly life, Anise expressed a heartfelt desire to her loved ones. With humility and sincerity, she asked her DNA family, Church family, and friends to forgive her for any wrongs she may have committed. She also took the opportunity to express her gratitude for their unwavering kindness, love, and support. As she prepared to transition to eternal life, Anise’s parting words were a testament to her faith and devotion: ‘Come Jesus Come.’
