On Sunday, February 26, 2012, God called our beloved
Andrew James Copeland home. He was born August 1,
1921 in Starkville, Mississippi to the late James and Lula
Copeland.
Andrew moved to Cincinnati in the 1940?s where he
built his home in Lincoln Heights, where he lived until he
became ill and moved to Meadow Brook Nursing Home.
Andrew was married to the late Johnnie Mae Copeland
(nee Chandler) on October 20, 1952 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Andrew confessed his love for Christ at an early age
and joined Ebenezer Second Baptist Church in Lincoln
Heights in the early 1950?s. He was a deacon of the church
where he remained a proud member until his death.
He retired from Celotex (formerly Phillip-Carey) in
Lockland where he was employed for over 30 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a son, Frank Leonard
(Dorothy) of Columbus, Mississippi; two sisters, Girlella
Plair of East Chicago, Indiana and Karie Bush of Chicago,
Illinois; two sisters-in-law, Doris Copeland of Texas and
Ruby Copeland of Starkville, Mississippi; and a host of
grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in
death by his daughter, Christine of California and seven
brothers, Sylvester, Willie, Robert, Jim, George, I.D. and
L.C.; and two sisters, Alice Louise and Zedda.
