Albert D. Upshaw Sr. (age 83) departed this life on August 10, 2025. He was born on May 2, 1942 in Pittsview, Alabama to the late Irvin Upshaw and the late Eugenia Shepherd Howard.
Albert moved to Cincinnati, where he graduated from Central High School in 1960.
Albert retired from the Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority in 2007 after 19 years of service. He was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds as well as the Cincinnati Bengals. He also loved working on cars, going fishing, and watching horse racing.
Our dad, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather will be missed. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Tyrone D. Upshaw; and grandchild, Shawnell Evans.
Albert is survived by his brother, Paul E. Howard; two sisters, Elizabeth M. Williams and Mary J. Brooks; children, Wanda R. McDuffy, Albert T. Upshaw, Sandra R. Upshaw, Anthony D. Upshaw, Albert D. Upshaw Jr., Brandi Upshaw, and Serentha Quarles; grandchildren, Nicole A. Richardson, Chani Johnson, Corey Evans, Jaziah King, Diamond Graham, Jalante Upshaw, Jamarcus Upshaw, and Jordan Upshaw; great grandchildren, Siara R. Richardson, Kaaisha R. Richardson, Isaiah D. Richardson, and Shawnta Evans; and one great-great grandchild, Maya Nell Paige.
