Adrienne Camille Armstead was born April 28, 1994 in Cincinnati, Ohio to LaRoy and Beryl (Rodgers) Armstead. After a brief illness, God called Adrienne home on March 22, 2015.
Adrienne received her early education through the Cincinnati Public Schools. She attended Woodford Elementary and earned her high school diploma at the School for the Creative and Performing Arts. She was in her third year as a cinematic arts major at the Columbus College of Art and Design.
Through the public schools gifted program testing, Adrienne’s artistic talent surfaced at an early age. She won the citywide public schools highest honor for her artwork in the second grade. As a young adult, Adrienne, was selected by ArtWorks of Cincinnati to participate in an art program. She and a team of young art students created murals around the Cincinnati area under the direction of well known artists, who served as mentors. Her art work can be seen on two murals. “Martha, The Last Carrier Pigeon” which is located at 8th and Vine Streets (across from the public library) and the “Transformation of Transporation” mural is located on Riverside Drive at the Yogurt Stand (near Schmidt field).
Adrienne was gifted in other ways as well. She had a beautiful singing voice and taught herself to play guitar. Christened at birth at Lee Chapel A.M.E. Church, Adrienne was a member of the Angel Choir as a child and would delight the congregation whenever she sang “Answer Me Lord”. She participated in many choral programs during her early years. Recently, Adrienne won a talent competition at her college. She sang and played “Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay” by Otis Redding, on the guitar.
Adrienne was an intelligent, bright, energetic student, who helped others by serving in the community and her church.
She enjoyed the outdoors as well as creating videos, animating, illustrating, painting, writing, singing, listening to music and riding her skate board. She was a kind, sweet person, with a sense of humor who would go out of her way to help others.
She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. LaRoy (Beryl) Armstead, brother, LaRoy Armstead, Jr., step-sister, Montelle Armstead, and grandmother, Mrs. Velma Rodgers. She also leaves a host of other family members, which include uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and many close friends to mourn her passing.
Adrienne was a bright-eyed, smart young woman, who was blessed with many talents. Her cheerful spirit will truly be missed but will remain in our hearts forever.
